For all of those who plan to attend Photonics West 2018 in San Francisco in a months from now, there are quite some presentations on Kerr frequency combs including some in two dedicated sessions. Below, after the link is a short overview of the relevant talks I found in the current program as PDF. And we might meet as I plan to be there as well.
In about one month the Frontiers in Optics conference starts. This year it will take place in Washington DC. Below is an overview of the 9 Kerr frequency comb related presentations currently in the conference program.
After missing out on the CLEO in San Jose, below is an overview of talks about Kerr frequency combs and closely related things at the CLEO Europe 2017 taken from the program.
With Photonics West 2017 one of the big conferences in optics and in particular for telecom is coming up. Time to have a look at the program of this edition and to see, what to expect for the field of Kerr frequency combs.
There are two dedicated session directly on the first day, Monday, 30 January:
Monday, 30 January, 1:10 PM to 3:15 PM: Frequency Combs with Optical Resonators I, Chair: Konstantin L. Vodopyanov
Monday, 30 January, 3:45 PM to 6:05 PM: Frequency Combs with Optical Resonators I, Chair: Andrea M. Armani
For a list of talks also outside these session see below.
Given that there are so many presentation (see the earlier post) I am sure all who attend CLEO are going to learn a lot and meet a lot of other Kerr comb people! I heard rumors that there will be a dedicated Kerr comb event for students. Stop by here, here, here or here and talk to the speakers!
Well, as the MFCA spells out as “Nanotera workshop on Microresonator Frequency Combs: theory and Applications” it is basically all about Kerr frequency combs. See the program here.
From the first edition in 2014 (see picture above) I can say that I enjoyed seeing so many people who work in our field in one place. I was particularly happy about the more relaxed atmosphere compared to most conferences. Actually, the idea for this blog was born as an afterthought of the MFCA2014. It just took me some time to realize it.
Side note: the lake is only about 15min walk from the hotel but the water is pretty cold even during that time. So, think about bringing your wetsuit if you plan to go for a longer swim!
Disclaimer: I do my PhD in the group that is organizing this workshop.
If you happen to be at the OSA MICS meeting in Long Beach, CA, USA next week (20 to 22 of March), there are some presentation about Kerr frequency combs:
